Read this first! Before getting yourself a new iPhone 3G from Globe, I suggest you better read this article from CNET.com about Apple being sued over iPhone 3G reception.

The charges in the lawsuit mirror widespread complaints about the iPhone 3G's reception that have crisscrossed the Internet since Apple and AT&T released the successor to the original iPhone on July 11. Affected owners have said the iPhone 3G will switch between 3G networks and EDGE networks even when the device is sitting still and that they will lose reception in the middle of a call while in a 3G-rich environment.
Though Apple has released an update for its OS, some reports says it made the reception worse.

Unfortunately, a resolution to widespread, frustrating 3G reception issues is not among those fixes. It mentions about a bug where the iPhone's operating system manifest a poor 3G reception. What is worse about it is that updating the OS to 2.0.2 would result in having a "No Service" message in previously 3G-accessible location.

Unfortunately, a resolution to widespread, frustrating 3G reception issues is not among those fixes. Their branch manager, Boyet Diosana, was very helpful and to think I am just a new client opening a small account. It is very seldom that a bank's branch manager would go out of his way to entertain a client and help you out, explaining all the details and answering all the questions related to the account.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-68530853439331884162007-11-23T23:51:00.000+08:002008-12-11T23:15:24.500+08:00Human Destroying Wildlife
From Genesis 2:15 "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it."

I was watching a documentary of National Geographic Channel featuring the polar bears and how there numbers are dwindling. How this species are slowly being eliminated due to global warming, making the polar ice melt at a very disturbing pace. They can't hunt their meal which are the seals because the ice that they used to walk on to hunt are now disappearing making movement for the polar bears very difficult. The result of this is that they weigh less than what is normal making it difficult for them to conceive cubs and what is worse a lot of them die due to hunger. Some of them are now hunting for food other than the seals and sometimes those who do ends up dead after being shot for encroaching on human settlements. I can't blame them for encroaching for these animals are hungry and they also have young ones to feed. It is not far from human behavior that we would go to great extent so as not to see our children die of hunger.

They are the ones suffering for what humans are doing. We, the human race, are the ones to blame for what is happening to the world now. These species who are living with us on this planet are not guilty of any wrongdoing whatsoever that resulted to this global warming that the Earth is experiencing now. Whatever backlash MAN receives from these wrongdoing, MAN rightly deserves them.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-16559531707118351312007-11-16T22:37:00.000+08:002008-12-11T23:15:32.303+08:00NPE: No Permanent Enemies
The photo on the left, taken from the Philippine Daily Inquirer website, illustrates the saying that in politics there are no permanent enemies only permanent interest.

Why do I say so? Well look closely at the photo. From left-right: Convicted plunderer former President Joseph "Erap" Ejercito Estrada Jr., former Vice-President Teofisto Guigona, former President Corazon Aquino and Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay.

If you must know, Guigona was the one who initiated the impeachment of Erap. Cory was one of the leaders of Edsa Dos asking for Erap to step down which he did. Now look at them aren't they all look cozy with each others company?

These kind of people are the ones making the Filipinos loose faith in the country's future. What kind of leaders has this country have left? Where in the world can you find a convicted but recently pardoned plunderer out partying and showing no remorse for his action. Before he was pardoned he was as meek as a lamb but now he is out, he is back to being a bully. Poor Philippines for having a stupid sitting President. In what she sees as one way of holding on to power, the President quickly pardoned her predecessor, who was convicted of plunder that took six years to prosecute, in the guise of national healing.

If she would step down as the opposition are calling for her resignation, who would lead this impoverish country? Those bozos on the picture? If you think this country is in deep trouble now, think again.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-80216404176706509822007-11-02T23:43:00.000+08:002008-12-11T23:15:32.825+08:00We Should Have Gone to Med School

These was the sentiments shared by my college buddies who are now proud parents during our last monthly meet at Jack's Loft in Eastwood City. I had no idea that going for your child's check-up would cost around 500 pesos exclusive of vaccination or any prescription that may come out of it. Imagine if each doctor would at least have 10 patients a day that would be 5,000 pesos and that covers only the consultation fees.

So I can't imagine why are best doctors are trying their luck in the US or UK as nurses, when they can earn as much as 5,000 pesos a day. They are complaining that the pay in the Philippines is not that good compared with first world countries. Now I wonder how they answered the question when these doctors were still kids when asked why they wanted to be a doctor. Was their answer even remotely related to the financial rewards one gets for being a doctor? Or was it they wanted to be doctors to help cure the sick?

Maybe along the way helping cure the sick became second to earning mucho dinero for these doctors.

I saw on one TV show doctors who have to walk several kilometers just to reach the indigenous tribes of the Philippines who they know can't pay them much and still care for them. It has been years since we last saw each other and hang out which we usually did during those times.

Now older, we don't party like the good old days but it has become sort of a way for us to relax and reminisce. It is also a way for us to be up-to-date on what is happening with each others careers and family life, though on that last part I can't contribute any being still single.

I am trying to make these get-togethers bigger by asking everyone in the group to also inform our other college buddies of these events. The Nobel Peace PrizeThe 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to both Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Albert Arnold (Al) Gore Jr. for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change as stated in Nobelprize.org website.

Now I hope this award increases the world's awareness that this problem is real and not something that would go away. It is something moral and spiritual issue and not just political as some quarters would say now that a former United States Vice President was given this award. This might also paved the way for the world to focus more attention on what is happening with our environment and take actions to avert further damage to the ozone layer.

The United States of America being one, if not the only, super power in the world should thus take the lead in promoting environment awareness to its citizens. What is startling is that instead of them leading the way to conservation they are steering clear of the Kyoto Agreement. The reason they gave to the world is that each nation should determine its own way of lessening carbon emission. This is bull!

I hope the American people realized that they now have a way to help the environment by pressing Al Gore to run for President and if Hillary Clinton really loves her country she would step aside and do the ultimate sacrifice of her political career. If Al Gore becomes the President of the United States of America there is hope that America would change its position about climate change and be the leader nation that it should be.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-63337876014522271062007-10-11T12:57:00.000+08:002007-10-11T13:14:53.462+08:00Still Globe (In)Visibility?I just visited the forums where Globe's HSDPA service (Visibility) is the topic and all I can see are more and more complaints from its subscribers. It seems that until now the problem of network congestion is still there and Globe has not been able to resolve this. Isn't Globe being bothered by the bad publicity that their company has been getting in the forums and blogs?

I think they are trying to catch up with Smart in terms of revenue and if they would put up new infrastructures to provide more bandwidth it would set them back. Isn't this sad that a company such as Globe Telecommunications known for quality of service seems now has only more revenues in their minds.

This problem of network congestion is not only being felt by those who have Visibility subscription but also those who have Globelines Speak and Surf and DSL subscription. The problem also is that when you call their hotlines they won't tell you that the problem is being experienced throughout their network, so you would think that it was only isolated in your area. Reading through the posts in forums such as TipidPC.com would tell you that it is not isolated and is prevalent throughout Globe's network.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-30529577180685806432007-10-04T10:05:00.000+08:002007-10-04T10:36:37.458+08:00Lost Our FocusThere is an ongoing signature campaign being done to protest the recent episode of Desperate Housewives and how Teri Hatcher's character made a deregatory remark about the medical schools here in the Philippines. These people are making a big noise about it saying that it belittles the medical schools here in the Philippines and those who graduated from said schools.

My question is where were these people when such derogatory remarks where being made to our Filipino domestic helpers? Are they making these brouhaha because they are the ones directly affected by the said remark of a TV character? Is this issue more important to us than what is happening now to Myanmar where people are ruthlessly being treated for wanting to have a taste of democracy?

I think we as Filipinos who experienced 300 years of oppressive Spanish rule, 50 years American rule, a few years of Japanese and 20 years of Marcos dictatorship should be the ones leading in making the world aware of what is happening to Myanmar. We should be making more noise about how the protesters in Myanmar are being battered or even killed than about this statement of a TV character.

I am not saying that we should let the offensive remark pass, but I think we should use the power of our email and blogs to make more people aware on what is happening in Myanmar.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-22143715193566127582007-09-30T22:16:00.000+08:002007-09-30T22:45:41.693+08:00Enough is enough with Globe Visibility!I had it with Globe and the lies they are peddling to their subscibers and the would-be subscribers. They have this tv show where their guest are saying that thanks to Globe they can have an internet connection anywhere. What a load of bull! Okay you may get connected but what bandwidth can you get, based on my Visibility experience a dial-up connection is faster that what Globe HSDPA network provides.

This is not the first time that this has happen if you would take a look at my old posts. I think sometime in May this problem exploded in their face and they admitted that it was due to network congestion. I think Globe has not learned its lesson that is why this is happening again or their network engineers are sleeping on the job while their sales people keep on selling this service without coordinating with the engineering people. Lack of communication for such a big telecommunications provider!

What is very disturbing is even though they have been experiencing network congestion they have not stop selling or accepting new Visibility subscribers. Reading new posts in TipidPC.com and other blogs plus comments by those who read my blogs, I finally decided to rescind my contract with Globe today. Though it is very difficult for me to take such action not only because I am a long-time subscriber of Globe, I have been endorsing this service to my clients and friends, I had enough of their promises and lies. After they asked for another week and it had expired and Globe still wasn't able to resolve, I on my own gave them one more week to resolve it but until this morning the problem still persist.

Finally, I serve notice to Globe that I am rescinding my contract with them due to the grounds that the service that I entered into which is an HSDPA service whenever available with speeds of up to 1.4 Mbps was not being delivered. It is okay if in my area HSDPA or even 3G is not available and only EDGE/GPRS are the signal that I am getting but that is not the case, I get an HSDPA connection even though I set my Mobile Connect to GPRS preferred but the speed I am getting is only good for a dial-up connection. The signal was a steady HSDPA and the action of Mobile Connect of automatically putting/connecting to an HSDPA signal means there is HSDPA availability in my area but Globe can't provide the speed that goes with an HSDPA connection.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-77712458225200153172007-09-16T21:59:00.001+08:002007-09-16T22:13:39.507+08:00Globe's request for one more weekI went to Globe Hub in Glorietta to have them receive my letter informing them that I would be recinding my contract with them since for the more than 40 days now they still can't resolve the problem I have been experiencing. They requested to give them a week more to make some actions on how to remedy the situation that I am in. Being a loyal subscriber of Globe for almost 5 years now, I told them that I would be giving them the week they are asking for but not a day more to resolve my problem.

I wanted to run a speed test tonight but like what I have been experiencing for more than a month now I can't make a connection and instead get the error message: "A connection to the remote computer could not be established so the port used this connection was closed." I researched this error prompt in Google and I found out that this error occurs when there are too many request to the server and there is congestion within that network.

I really don't want to burn bridges so to speak but if this situation persist this coming week then I am left with no recourse but to recind the contract that I have with Globe Telecoms. I would also be informing companies that I work for as technical consultant/web designer to steer clear of Globe internet services for now until they are able to resolve their network congestion problem.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-5833530780505027252007-09-16T10:37:00.000+08:002007-09-16T10:49:57.279+08:00Another Speed Test
I think this confirms the fact that Globe Telecoms cannot support all its subscribers with the speed that the should be providing. I ran a test again within 4 hours since the last test and I got this. It is just 10:30 am on a Sunday and I got a speed like this, so what more if it is on a weekday.

The Department of Trade and Industry and also the National Telecommunications Commission should look into this practice of large telecommunications companies who shortchange their subscribers. What is so worrying is that still Globe has been accepting new subscriptions without them taking actions to alleviate the plight of their existing subscribers. All they are after is the money that they would be making by accepting more and more subscribers and adding them to the already congested network.

Again I won't be stopping those people who still have the decency to inform the public of this continuing problem of Globe Telecoms and their ghastly practice of keeping their new and existing subscribers in the dark.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-64926649190949525632007-09-16T08:16:00.000+08:002007-09-16T08:25:42.625+08:00Off Peak Speed?
I posted my experience with Globe Visibility in one of the forums I mentioned and it seems that during off peak hours you can get the speed they are advertising as commented by one of the forum members. I also posted it in a Yahoo! Group that I belong to and I got a reply that even using a Speak and Surf they are also having the same problem. The only conclusion you can deduce from this is that Globe Telecoms servers can't accomodate all the subscribers that they currently now have and still they are accepting new clients.

The speed test that I posted here was done on a Sunday morning Manila time. I will try testing it again later and also during weekdays just to verify myself if indeed there congestion within Globe network.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-38936880303594860682007-09-14T16:35:00.000+08:002007-09-15T21:13:21.537+08:00Globe Visibility SUCKS!
Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am proud to present to you the speed that Globe Telecom has been providing not only me but also its other Visibility subscribers. Don't believe me? Well you can check out the Globe Visibility Support Thread (Broadband On-The-Go) on TipidPC.com.

If you really don't believe me then go ahead ignore this post and get yourself a Globe Visibility subscription with a corresponding 2 year lock-in contract and experience the same HELL that me and other Visibility subscribers are going through at the moment. I just don't want you to be stuck in the trap Globe Telecoms has set laid out in connection with getting a Visibility subscription. Why a trap you may ask, well if you try to have your subscription terminated then they will dangle the pre-termination fee over your head. This leaves you stuck with a very expensive dial-up connection.

Now for all of you out there who have kind hearts and care for other human beings, I can't stop you from sending the link to this post to all your contacts and I won't stop you either from posting your comments on this post.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-44389230127082333732007-06-06T22:50:00.000+08:002007-06-06T23:16:47.284+08:00Visibilty Ordeal Finally Over?I was reading Wifely Steps most recent post and she wrote that her Visibility is now working though not yet at the same speeds it had before. I also read on TipidPC forum that some of its members are at the very least not experiencing those connection timed out error message but there are still complaints on the speed that they are getting.

With the way Globe had increased its rates for Visibility subscriptions there will be a slowdown on the number of new subscribers hence less jockeying for those oh so precious limited bandwidth that Globe can provide. Though I hope that they haven't stop on upgrading their servers and bandwidth allocations since on my end I still am not getting the speed that I was getting before May 7, 2007 and I don't think I am alone on this.

Let us just hope that like what they assured Wifely Steps that the speed will pick up will hold true.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-70998601475106525452007-06-05T10:44:00.000+08:002007-06-05T11:06:01.050+08:00Visible Again? (Update on Globe Visibility)Starting last Friday I have been getting decent speeds with my Visibility account though not yet pre-May 7, 2007 at least now it is constant and not those server timed out messages. Hopefully everyone else who had the same problem with Visibility are also having the same result as I do. Wifely Steps hasn't updated yet her post on her situation with Globe Visibility but hopefully she is having the same speed or better that I do right now and that goes for everybody else.

I read from Mobility Philippines that Globe has increased its rates for Visibility and I agree with those who are saying that since Globe is having a difficult time providing the speed they are advertised to their current subscribers, this is their way of putting a cap to the ever growing number of subscribers. For a company known for its quality of service, it can't tell the public that they don't have the capacity yet to accept new subscribers and had to stop selling Visibility.

The rates that I got from Mobility Philippines' blog would simple stop dead on its track anyone planning to have a Visibility plan. From the previous P2,000.00 monthly service fee now its P3,000.00 plus you have to shell out P11,700.00 for the USB modem.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-20883954397624244432007-05-31T10:19:00.000+08:002007-05-31T10:55:41.934+08:00Tell Me Lies, Sweet Little Lies (Acknowledgment Letter from Globe)I finally gotten a an email reply from Globe Telecoms and although they indeed acknowledge that there is a problem it says it was only last week. I can't believe that Globe Telecoms are still sending out this lies to their subscribers. If you would read from Mobility Philippines and Wifely Steps that this is not the only time lies were given out by Globe Telecoms. Until now I am still experiencing slow connection and connection time out, and reading the Globe Visibility Support Thread (Broadband On-The-Go) forum, service is not fully restored to pre-May 7, 2007 parameters.

Mobility Philippines Robin Lim is offering his services to us Visibility subscribers for free in his capacity as a lawyer to file a complaint with NTC regarding this predicament that we are all in. We need to form a group and he will be representing us. Globe Telecoms is not moving fast enough to restore it services and maybe this action is what's need for Globe to expedite their network upgrade.

One of those who posted a comment in my blog is asking if leaking this issue to the media would help in knocking some sense to Globe Telecoms people. I agree with him.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-26141705242902104272007-05-29T16:57:00.000+08:002007-05-30T08:50:28.384+08:00Hey What's With All This Restriction for VisibilityTo those who have not subscribed to Globe Telecoms Visibility may this serve as a warning to you and for everyone else who already have Visibility read on.

First is all your outgoing mails must use their outgoing mail server(mail.globenet.com.ph) and this is kind of a hassle for those who have or their company has their own outgoing mail servers. Why is this a hassle, well for starters when you have your own or your company has its own domain (www.yourdomain.com) and usually it has its own outgoing mail server(smtp.yourdomain.com) you would need to change your email client/software settings to use mail.globenet.com.ph which is Globe's outgoing mail server whenever you use Visibility. Now if you have another provider or your office has its own provider and you will be sending emails you need to change this settings back to smtp.yourdomain.com. PLDT's WeRoam doesn't make it necessary for you to do this changes because it allows you to use your own outgoing mail server. I think other ISP's also would allow you to use your own outgoing mail server.

Second is not allowing you to use Virtual Private Networking (VPN) connection unless you are on corporate subscription. Take note that corporate subscriptions for Visibility is cheaper than personal subscription. Personal would cost 2,000.00 pesos per month whereas corporate would only be 1,700.00 per month.

I don't understand why Globe has all these restrictions when on their advertisment they say its like having your office where you are.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-86520564653676107202007-05-23T11:25:00.000+08:002007-05-23T11:36:49.019+08:00A Call for ActionI think its time for some action on our part as subscribers to let Globe Telecom know our grievances. Okay there's the support hotline (2199) which I think most of you like me have been calling up and telling them our present predicament and how terrible their service is. They usually give us their pre-canned reply that everything is being done to fix this problem and they would escalate it. They have been escalating it since May 7 and until now it is the problem of having a slow connection that has been escalating.

Like me most of you have been posting, reading and commenting on blogs that has the Visibility problem as their topic. We have been very patient with Globe Telecoms slow response to our current predicament but until now no solid response has been given to us and even a simple acknowledgment they can't even muster.

I don't know if you will agree with this suggestion but here it is anyway. Let us all meet at Robinson's Pioneer in Mandaluyong and as a group, we would march our way to Globe Telecoms office. I think it is about time that we haul our asses off our seats and take some actions ourselves. That way they will know that we won't take this treatment anymore and we demand some actions on their part. I know someone has suggested it already and was given a negative reply and that is the problem with our country right now all we do is complain but we don't take any action. Why don't we go there and at the very least if we have the numbers we would get notice.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-51307299122022926402007-05-21T21:54:00.000+08:002007-05-21T22:39:50.436+08:00Updates on Visit to Globe TelecomsAs stated on my previous post that I will be posting whatever the outcome of my dialogue with Globe Telecoms be it be good or bad news. The simple answer to the problem that all of us is experiencing at the moment is that there is not enough bandwidth to go around. Globe Telecom had and still is OVERSELLING their network capacity. This was the answer that I got from the Customer Service Representative that I talked to.

He continued to say that they have been receiving mounting complaints from subscribers experiencing the same problem as those who sent me emails and posted comments on my blog. The sad thing is that until now, although they have elevated these complaints, the network people are still not giving any feedback. All they can do is to accept the complaints and forward them to the network people.

I am asking for any suggestion from other people who is experiencing these problems with Globe Visibility on what we should do to make them these people do something about it. I was thinking that we should form a group or come as a group to their office and ask them what they are planning to do. I feel that if we go there individually, they will just give their normal pre-canned reply that they are doing everything they can.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-28437853569199691632007-05-21T08:56:00.000+08:002007-05-21T15:24:41.665+08:00Continuing Saga with Globe VisibilityIt seems that I am not alone with my struggle with Globe Telecom's Visibility. I have been receiving comments on my blog and links to other peoples blogs like Mobility Philippines regarding the same problem with this service. It was further solidified yesterday when I was at Globe's Platinum Lounge in Glorietta and doing some surfing but using WIZ since I can't get any decent connection with Visibility. I overheard a guy asking the customer service representative if there is a problem with Visibility and the reply was there is sometime a problem with Yahoo! I don't know if Globe had trained this people regarding their Visibility service. I then approached the guy and asked him if the problem he is experiencing is the same as mine which are connection timed out, page cannot be displayed, server taking a long time to respond error messages and he said yes.

I went to Globe Telecoms office in Pioneer St., Mandaluyong to asked them if they can help me out with the bad connection that I was getting and sad to say they were saying that they are having problems with their 3G service that they hence they can't help me. I am going back there again today and I will post here whatever they would say or do with regards to my problem.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-4066186390822070302007-05-18T08:17:00.000+08:002007-05-18T08:36:20.627+08:00Updates on Globe VisibilityI still can't get a decent connection from my Globe Visibility up to this time of writing. Globe's Corporate Solutions Department which handles the Visibility account still can't find an answer to this problem of mine, and just recently I found out that it was not only me who was having this kind of problem. I am getting frustrated with this kind of service from a company who prides itself of giving quality services to its valued subscribers.

I did my own testing just to find out if the problem was isolated in my area because one of the customer service representative suggested to me that it could be related to the location. I went to Greenbelt 3 to test my Globe Visibility connection using my Huawei E220 modem. I had a 5 bars UMTS signal strength as indicated by Mobile Connect and so when I connected it was HSDPA. Lo and behold I still had the same connection problem. I then went to the Globe Platinum Lounge situated at the Digital Exchange in Glorietta and tried it also there and still the same problem persisted. I then tried using Globequest WIZ and I got a very good and fast connection and no more of those timed-out error messages.

So my last step is to go to their office at Globe Telecoms Tower in Pioneer St., Mandaluyong and have them take a look at it themselves.

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8431699970808049088.post-58843935159973867202007-05-13T10:35:00.002+08:002007-05-13T11:05:33.858+08:00Connection Timed Out!I woke up at around 5 a.m. today just to check on my hunch that Globe Telecoms have been overselling their Visibility service and thus there's not enough bandwidth for all of their subscriber to share. I started my Mobile Connect software to connect to their servers and just like any other days I got an HSDPA signal. After launching my Firefox browser, I started browsing the web particularly to check my web-based email accounts, like Yahoo!, Hotmail and AOL and to my relief everything went smoothly no more of that connection timed out or the server is taking too long to respond error messages.

I continued with my surfing browsing bandwidth-hungry websites like YouTube and NBA.com and I was so happy that my download speed is fast and constant like it was before. At around 9 a.m. I began experiencing the usual problem that I have been experiencing the past few days which are timed out connection or server is taking too long to respond or worse page cannot be displayed errors and to make matters worse I can't even sign-in to my Instant Messenger accounts both at Yahoo and MSN.

So I called up Globe's Customer Service Hotline to report for the nth time these problems I am experiencing with their service and I was not a wee bit suprise that I got their usual pre-canned answer: "We have noted your problem Sir and rest assure that it is being looked upon by our technical department." It has been 4 days now and counting that I have been getting this kind of answer and so I asked the person on the other end that maybe they don't have enough bandwidth to serve their Visibility clients and the reply that I got was that it could be one of the reasons. At the very least this confirmed my suspicion that indeed they don't have enough bandwidth to serve their growing number of Visibility subscriber.

I trusted that Globe Telecoms would provide a better surfing experience for me that my PLDT WeRoam being that it is part of the Ayala Group and as far as I know the Ayala Group is known for providing quality products and services. I am now having second thoughts on this notion of mine but if Globe and PLDT can't provide dependable and reliable service then somebody tell me if their is anyone else out there that will. IS THERE NO ONE ELSE?

Istikhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13498380293390321798noreply@blogger.com2
